The sectors that have attracted the most investors over the last 3 years, some of the 2016 demands such as IoT technologies are no longer those of 2019 but nevertheless remain the pillars for several years such as Fintech, health or software companies. In the “noises”, the “stealth” to follow we find the Quantum technology (less than 200m€ of investment in 2019) which should be this year one of the most sought after technologies (too stealthy to be in our table).

When reading the number of investments in 2019, we see (to be confirmed) a notion of “Hub” not speciality and by country, the United Kingdom remains the leader in Fintech, by the number of transactions (33%) and especially in the amounts (50%), which were raised during the year 2019 on the most sought-after technologies. The difference between the number of deals and the amount is explained by the size of the deals in the United Kingdom. These hubs are already a reality in certain technologies such as Quantum, which today in Europe are mainly concentrated in the United Kingdom, between Bristol, Innsbruck, Oxford and UCL.
